Raz's 40th

My friend Raz had her 40th birthday this last June (yes, a bit late posting). She had a party at The Warehouse. It was a fun night! Raz, may your 40th year be most fabulous!! Hugs!

Unfortunately, my camera flash gave out on me that night, so I apologize for the picture being dark!

Better pic of Raz - Thanks Dian!

Vegetarian Week Day 1: Field Salad

Candied Pecans and Dried Cranberries
David and I are playing with some different vegetarian meals. We decided to go all vegetarian until Friday. Tonight we had field greens with candied pecans, dried cranberries and Gorgonzola cheese. I put a homemade balsamic vinaigrette on mine (balsamic vinegar, a little extra-virgin olive oil and a bit of honey). I also chopped up some red grapes and tossed into my salad. David had his salad sans grapes and dressing. I was inspired by this dish from a baby shower I attended yesterday. The salad was very similar except the candied pecans were not as sweet as these - I think I prefer the not as sweet pecans.
Tomorrow I'm going to venture into the land of polenta, beans and a side salad.
I will try to remember to take a picture of my meal before I devour it!

House and Family Rules Subway Art Print // Coral Red // 11x14

Man, I surely don't blog like I used to!
Anywho, I saw some neat posters via a blog I like to read. These seem very "Jen", so I may pick one up. AND - I love to buy from Etsy!
My best friend from college is coming this weekend. I'm definitely going to blog with pictures on her visit. Getting so excited!

Summertime

Summer is my favorite season of all! Personally, I would rather it be too hot than too cold outside. And this being said by someone with no A/C in her house.
We are having a fairly good summer so far. The kids miss school. They yell "School!" every time we drive by. The kids and I spend most of our afternoons outside with the neighbors. Lots of water balloons and bubbles to be had.
Along with a lot more time with the kids, I do seem to lose my patience a bit more with them this summer. Jack is definitely a two-year old with his sweetness to temper tantrums in less than 2 seconds. Lily is quite a smart gal and knows how to "negotiate" what she wants. She normally does not win, but gets points for trying.
May and June have flown by. Before we know it, school will be starting again.

Here's to going barefoot outside!
