Circle

Life really is a circle. I realized I had not posted that my friend, Amy had her baby! Charlotte was born last week in Kansas City! David and I are hoping we can visit Amy and family soon to meet Charlotte. We got to meet Amy's oldest daughter, Elise when she was 3 months old. Elise is now 2 years old, so we are due for a visit soon.
Congratulations Amy and Chris!!

Thoughts for a friend.

Today I received some sad news. I found out today that my sisters' very good friend, Alex lost her Mom yesterday to lung cancer. I never met Alex's mom, but I've spent some fun times with Alex. She came on a cruise with my family back in 2003. She and her sister also babysat for Lily while I was in Indianapolis this year. This allowed me to hang out with my family for my brother's birthday.

Alex, we are thinking of you. *hugs*

Back in 2000, I lost my cousin, Cindy to breast cancer. She was only 35 years old. I really hope that within my life time, they will find a cure for cancer. To find out more about breast cancer research, go here. Cindy's Mom also has a site here. To find out more about lung cancer research, go here.

Costume Fun

We went over to Mommy Karen and Little Caoimhe (Keeva)'s house this week. We had fun dressing Lily up in Caoimhe's Halloween costume! (yes, I laughed my head off! I may have even peed my pants a bit!) :)

Reminds me of Abe Lincoln!

Dessert Housewarming Open House

Friday night we had our Dessert/Housewarming Open House. It was so fun having the friends over at the house. A couple of times I went upstairs to feed Lily. I loved hearing all the chatter. That is one of my favorite noises. I think David and I will have a Holiday Open House to fill our home with friends, laughter and warmth once again!
(Notice Lily was diggin' the men attention!)

Nana and Abuelito

Lily's Nana and Abuelito (my parents) are in town from Indiana. We are all so happy they are here! We are staying quite busy. My Mom came in on Sunday and Dad on Wednesday. Dad had a work conference in San Diego, so he wasn't able to come until Wednesday. So far we have had lots of friends stop by. Monday night we were supposed to have a Stamping Party, but our Stamping Lady's son was sick, so we just had social hour. Tuesday was a Lemongrass Spa Party. Today was lunch with my Dad's cooking. This Friday we are having our Dessert Open House and that should be loads of fun!

Hugs and Standing

Little Caoimhe came over this morning and sweet little Caoimhe gave Lily a great big hug. Lily wasn't quite sure about the affection :)

This is Lily's newest favorite game. Hang onto the edge of the pack-n-play. Fall down. Have Mommy help her stand back up.

It was a fun weekend

Both David and I had "nights off". David had the guys over on Friday night and I went out with some Mommies on Saturday night. The Mommies and I had a wonderful time. I laughed all night and just enjoyed the company of new friends. I feel so grateful for meeting these ladies. We have many similarities. We are all in our early 30s. Unfortunately, I'm the oldest one. At age 24, you'd think I'd be the young one! ha ha! We are all a few months older than our husbands. (in other words we are all cradle robbers!) We all have children around the same age. We have similar political views and we all just have a great time when we meet up.
