Waiting for my toast to finish

Half way done with my "toast" project! I'm wearing one around the house quite a bit this weekend. Can't wait to finish the other one!

Jack loves to sit in his "johnny jumper" seat upside down.

I was never allowed to do this as a child.

Yes, it is still winter in Colorado - but at least she can dress herself now!

I got my hair cut and colored on Friday!!

Toast

My newest project on my needles is this. They are called "toast". I thought this would be nice to have on those cold days when you need a bit more warmth and still need the use of your fingers. This is a very easy project for those of you still learning to knit.
Right now I'm working on knitting faster. I still knit in the "English fashion". My hands feel awkward knitting Continental style. I am practicing a row here and a row there with Continental. Continental is known as a faster method and I hope to master it soon.

I thought I was done with my big cozy couch blanket, but my husband informed me he would like it larger - so still crocheting away on the blanket. This is a great project while watching the Olympics!

A Little Less of Me

For those friends in Colorado, you know I've been doing Weight Watchers for several months now. I didn't want to blog about it until I hit a significant goal. Well, last Saturday I did! I am down 21.2 pounds!! I have about 15 more to go to be at the top of my healthy weight range. I will probably set my goal weight to the top of the range to make "Lifetime Membership". Depending how I feel and how my cholesterol numbers are, I may try to lose another 5 pounds or so from there.
For those of you who have known me a long time, you know I have never really been thin. I'm not out to be a supermodel, but to be in a normal weight range would be so very nice! If I can do 20+ pounds, I can get this additional 15 pounds. I'm hoping by this summer I'll be on a maintenance plan. Weight Watchers isn't for everyone, but really, it's the best for me. I need to be able to eat anything I want. I don't do well with diets that limit a whole food group such as a high protein diet or those silly diets like "the cabbage diet". Just wanted to toot my own horn for a minute. I see the Doctor in April and I'm hoping for low cholesterol numbers!! (they weren't so great last year)

Thanks to my family and friends who have supported me thus far!

Why not to knit pink socks 2 years apart...

The socks are done. So one is significantly larger than the other. Probably because I did the other one oh, 2 years ago? Hrmp. They are for my Mom, so I'm sure she won't judge me for this flaw. Their meant to be "around the house" slipper socks, so perhaps no one will notice. Now onto some socks for my Dad - just have to buy smaller double pointed needles. Darn, that means a trip to my favorite knitting shop. Wonder if I could do a solo trip!?

Meatless

From time to time I like to reduce my meat consumption. For a couple of years in my early twenties I was vegetarian. I aspire to live a vegetarian lifestyle from time to time, but just haven't made the big commitment. I also hate the feeling of putting people out when I have a meal at their home. Perhaps flexitarian would be a better path for me. Some of my new favorite meatless dishes are Boca's spicy chik'n and Gardein's pulled shreds. Being vegetarian isn't for everyone (neither is being Vegan as I don't think I could give up my lattes). However, trying to eat vegetarian at least one meal a week is a nice change of pace.

Tomorrow is the Superbowl - I know some meat will be had and actually, I'm looking forward to it. Go Colts!!
