Sleeping Baby, Room, Knitting and something for the husband...

Lily is taking a 2 hour nap!! She was quite fussy today and guess she just needed some sleep. She really really really wants to crawl/walk/move and hasn't quite figured it out yet. You can do it Lily!

These are pics of her room - still under construction. Slowly but surely it will be completed.

Here is my knitting project so far. This is a sweater for David. The front part is done! I'm now working on the back. Next will be the sleeves, then the neck, then the fun project of putting them all together! Here is our dog, Maya. I tease David that he has more pictures of the dog than his own child! Here David, I took a picture of Maya too!! :) (check out his blog. Notice the top picture, hee hee)

Tiki Party 07

Lisa and Rik had their annual Tiki Party on Saturday. It was a lot of fun! Thanks Lisa and Rik for the invite! Always good to see you guys!!

Betsy and Roger - good friends of ours. I've known Roger since 1998! One of my first friends here in Colorado. Betsy is one of my newest Stamping Buddies!
Lisa (hostess making the Sangria - yum!) I've known Lisa since 1998 as well. She was my *very* first friend here in Colorado!
Rik (host manning the bar)
We forgot Lily's hat, so we improvised...arrrr it's Pirate Lily

New Friends, New Dishes and Rainbows

On Friday, I went to Panera Bread to meet up with two of my new friends, Karen and Cat. Karen is in the red, Cat in pink. Karen's baby is Caoimhe (pronounced Keeva) and Cat's little one is Isobel.

Here is Lily and Isobel playing together.

Yesterday I was at KMart and found new everyday dishes. 32 pieces for 30 bucks! Can't beat that!! I LOVE our other dishes, very festive and colorful, but they are just not practical for everyday. They cannot be microwaved and they chip quite easily.

Lily and I got a treat coming home last night. A Rainbow! My camera does not do it justice of course. This is one great thing about living in Colorado. We get lots of rainbows. I tried pointing it out to Lily, but not sure she knew what I was pointing out. :)

Tonight is the Tiki party at Lisa and Rik's house. I will post pictures later on of the festivities!!

It was so good!

Dawn, Tonia, Kelly and Marilyn - my work friends!!
Ryan and Danielle
The Zoo!!

I finished Harry Potter last night and it was SO GOOD! Well worth the 700+ pages of reading. I sacrificed my sleep and read until midnight, but I just had to find out what happened with Harry. For those of you who've read the 7th book, let me know and we can talk!

My week is going okay. I have had lunch with several friends. I keep forgetting my camera, but I posted a few pics of the friends I did manage to get pictures.

Today I had lunch with my friend Raz. I haven't seen Raz in forever and it was so good to catch up with her. Yesterday I had lunch with Liz downtown. We had salad and pizza and walked around downtown. It was a bit hot, but well worth the time. I hadn't seen Liz in awhile either and it's always nice to catch up with her as well.

This last weekend I caught up with my work friends on Friday. Saturday we had breakfast with Ryan and Danielle (do you catch the food theme? Why do we always meet up over meals?) Anyways, Ryan is David's good friend and Danielle is his girlfriend. Later that day we were off to the zoo. This was Lily's 2nd visit. The first time was at the Indianapolis Zoo last June. Lily slept for most of that trip. She seemed much more aware this time around.

Tomorrow I'm having...wait for it....LUNCH with some new Mommy friends. I will try to remember my camera and we can get pictures of the Mommies and their babies. Saturday David and I are going to a Tiki Party at our friends' house, Lisa and Rik. Again, will try to bring the camera. After their Tiki Party I've been invited to a girls night in. I'll see if I can make it after Lily goes to bed. No plans on Sunday as of right now.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Same Ole Same Ole

Last Monday I got my hair done. I love love love getting my hair done. I haven't had it cut and colored in awhile. I've noticed since giving birth, I have quite a few more gray hairs. Ho hum. This was my birthday gift from my husband. The rest of my gift comes on Aug 4th when I get a pedicure, manicure and massage!! I have the greatest husband ever! :)
This week was fairly normal for us. David had to work lots though, so today is family day and we are going to hit the zoo! First we will be having lunch with my former coworkers from Pikes Peak Behavioral Health Group. Then off to the zoo! Tomorrow I'm going to a Stamping Party with my friend Lisa. I haven't done stamping in quite some time. I don't really have anything to Stamp, but I'll figure something out. We are going to have a Housewarming Party in September (while my parents are in town), so perhaps I can stamp up a few invitations.

Last Wednesday I had lunch with a couple new friends, Cat and Karen. Cat has a 10 month old and Karen has a 13 month old. I met them on a neat website www.cafemom.com I'm really working on getting a good network of other SAHM (Stay At Home Moms). I need this for my sanity. I must get out of the house everyday and knowing other Mommies sure does help. It's also nice to hear other Mommy advice. Of course I forgot my camera, so next time I meet up with them, I'll take some pictures.

Lily is doing well. She is currently taking her morning nap. She had a few rough nights with sleep, but last night she slept all the way through from 8pm to 7am - sweetness!! I feel SO GOOD this morning. I love sleep. Speaking of, David let me sleep in the guest bedroom in the basement for two nights this week to allow me to get some extra sleep. Thank you David!! So, again, I'm feeling really good today with all the sleep I got.

Friends, Sun and the Environment

On Saturday we had Jeff and Jennifer over for a late lunch BBQ. David grilled up some turkey burgers and Jennifer brought some cut watermelon. We also had some chips and salsa and very good guacamole. We were able to hang out for a couple of hours and chat, then went for ice cream. It's always a treat to see Jeff and Jennifer as they live in Longmont, CO. They used to live here in Colorado Springs, but Jeff got a job offer he couldn't refuse and they moved to Longmont. We do get to see them every couple of months and always have a good time.

I'm trying to make it a tradition to take a walk after dinner. Tonight David, Lily, Maya and I took our neighborhood walk. It was quite warm and sunny out, so we hooked Lily up again with her shades. She wasn't as laid back with her sunglasses this time, she kept taking them off. Oh well, she kept them on long enough for a picture with her Daddy.

I finally bought my environmentally friendly grocery bag. And yes, this is from Oprah, hence the large "O" in groceries. For those of you who know me a bit better, you know I love Oprah. I have used my grocery bags a couple of times now and feel good not using up a plastic or paper bag. If you are interested in the grOceries bag, you can get one at Oprah's Website. I'm also trying to win tickets to her show by entering in the "Oprah's Show VIP Ticket Giveaway". Yes, I am entering in *every day*. If I don't win, it won't be because I didn't try. I must see Oprah before she decides to retire from television. I would love for my Mom, my sisters and I to go to a show as we all love her. Perhaps we can arrange that sometime very soon.

Let's see, what else went on this weekend. I had brunch today with my friend, Melanie and darn-it, I forgot my camera. I wanted to take a picture of her in front of the restaurant. We ate at a place called Olive Branch. It's a local restaurant in downtown Colorado Springs. They have yummie breakfasts. I had a cup of oatmeal, one egg scrambled and a cup of fruit. Melanie got two eggs fried and a cinnamon roll. When the cinnamon roll came out, it was larger than Melanie's head, seriously! It was so big we both just started laughing. I think Melanie ate about 1/100th of the bun and took the rest home. ha ha! Melanie is about 18 weeks pregnant or so and it's fun catching up with all her pregnancy stories. Thanks Melanie for a fun brunch!

Knitting, Old Cards and 4th of July

Knitting:

I am working on a sweater for my husband. I told him to expect it around Christmas of 2010.
I really enjoy this knitting project, even though it will take me awhile, and I will probably need some help from some more experienced knitter soon. I'm working on the front of the sweater and soon it will be completed! I work on knitting while Lily sleeps at night. During her naps I try to get chores done around the house, so I reward myself for being a Mommy and housekeeper during the day by doing something crafty. Right now, that is knitting. I'm also a crocheter, but have set those projects aside. My last crochet project was my good friend Amy's baby blanket. Of course I forgot to take a picture of it before mailing it to her, but it's just a gigantic Granny Square.
Here is the sweater so far...

Old Cards:
While my parents were here, they noticed one of my old cards from my friend Amy (same Amy as the crochet project) in a frame. I told them, oh, this probably was a Christmas card from a couple of years ago that I liked and framed. Well, I opened up the card and it was for my 21st birthday! ha ha! Of course that was only like 5 years ago - yea right!

4th of July:
Here is a picture if Lily on the 4th

Nana and Abuelito

Lily's Nana and Abuelito came for a visit for a couple of days. The time *flew* by much too quickly. We get to see them again in September when they come for another visit.
While they were here, we painted Lily's room (I'll post a pic once the decorations are up). We bought Lily a crib and put together my glider chair. Lily has a completely new room! Thanks Mom and Dad for all your help while you were out here!

Messy Face

Here's a pic of Lily eating rice cereal - well, the aftermath...
My parents are here in town for a couple of days. Have I taken any pictures yet? Of course not! I will tonight!!

A few notes before I go:

Happy Birthday Ryan! (July 3rd)

Early in the Morning

Shhh, it's very early in the morning. 7am! I have been awake for about 30 minutes. Lily and David are both still asleep. Lily went to bed last night at 7:45pm, woke up at 11pm to eat and has been asleep since then. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Soon I bet Lily will sleep all the way through the night!

Today we will be going to our Spiritual Center (Community for Spiritual Living). Then we will be taking pictures of the condo to add to the MLS listing on-line. We have only had one or two people walk through the condo since it's been on the market. Way too slow. We are hoping some pictures will entice someone to walk through and buy it. Later we will have our friends, James and Melanie over for dinner. Melanie is currently pregnant and is due in December!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Oh, I hear the little girl - time to eat!!!
