Jack, you are 6!

My six year old!!

Jack, today you turn SIX years old. Six sounds just like a big kid, and quite frankly, you are. You have your moments of wanting to be our baby, but overall, you are an awesome big kid.
This is what you are like these days:

  • You are shy. I think this is who you are. You open up and can be silly and crazy when you are comfortable, but when you are in a new environment, or when the attention is all on you, you are quite soft and quiet.
  • You are in Kindergarten and are doing fabulous! Your teacher is Mrs. Jenkins and you like her very much.
  • You are reading now. You can read books to me and I'm amazed at your reading abilities.
  • Your favorite color changes, but you seem to gravitate towards reds and blues.
  • You love pizza and chocolate.
  • When you eat cake, you only eat the icing.
  • You are into a few things. You enjoy Legos, How to Train Your Dragon, Om Nom from the game, "Cut the Rope", and Minecraft.
  • Speaking of Legos, this year you and your buddy from school got 2nd place in the Lego Competition among Kindergarten and 1st Graders! I'm so very proud of you.
  • You have a beautiful singing voice when you do open up and sing. You can carry a tune!
  • You give awesome hugs and you hug me every day. This is my most favorite part of my day.
  • You are compassionate. I can tell that you have the ability to put yourself in others shoes. This will serve you well.
  • You can ride your bike without training wheels. This is a skill you picked up this past fall.
  • You can tie your own shoes.
  • You are starting to do math.
  • You now take showers and can get yourself ready for bed with minimal help from me.
I love you my son! I love you to the moon and back.

Yearly shadow pictures.  Lily is almost as tall as me here. In real life she comes to my collarbone. Time is moving so quickly.

Mother's Day 2014

I had a nice, relaxing Mother's Day this year. Breakfast in bed and sat around and read books. I also asked for arts and crafts day. I made cards and David and the kids painted bird houses. It was perfect! Thanks David, Lily and Jack! Love you to the moon and back!

Tall Lily

I took this picture several weeks ago. I cannot believe how tall Lily is. This morning I ran into a woman with a one year old. She told me she is sure she will look back soon at her daughter and she will be 7 years old. I told her motherhood time is weird. The days are long and the years are short.

My goofy guy

Lily took this picture of Jack being silly. I found this picture on my phone the other day. I love it!!

Lincoln Edward

My nephew was born on February 26. He was 2 lbs. 14 oz.
Bonnie was 34 weeks when she delivered. He is small and mighty.
As of today, Lincoln is 3lbs 3oz.
This has been an arduous road for Bonnie and I'm impressed with her endurance.
Congratulations Bonnie, Mark and Grant!!
Love you Lincoln!

Revival?

I am thinking of reviving the blog. We will see. I have the blogger app on my phone and that may make it easier.

Today is cold and snowy. We are inside all day today.

Lily is 7!

Lily, you are SEVEN

Lily, my sweet girl, you are now 7 years old. You have really come into your own.
This is what you are like right now:

  • You love school. Your teacher is Sra. Korsos.
  • You are in the Spanish Immersion program and are doing well. You know many Spanish words now.
  • You are a tomboy and I am so happy you have the confidence to be who you are. You like to wear "boy tshirts" and no longer like Princess things. You refuse to wear pink.
  • Your buddy at school is Jackson.
  • You are sweet to your brother. Even when he is annoying, you still allow him to play with you and you include him in your activities.
  • You are so very smart. Sometimes this scares me. You can see any situation and spin it to make it work out for you. This is a great skill, use it wisely.
  • You are kind. I have seen you help out your friends when they have gotten hurt. I appreciate your kindness.
  • You have a sweet tooth (similar to me). You could eat sweets all day long if I allowed it.
  • You eat sushi! This makes me so very happy. We call it "mermaid food".
  • You enjoy Legos and How to Train your Dragon and Harry Potter.
  • You continue to color and draw almost every day. You are quite creative.
I love you to the moon and back. I am so lucky to be your Mom. Thank you for being born my sweetness!
