Trukin' Along

David, the kids and I have been busy with just the normal duties of life. I could not imagine how adding one more baby to our lives would make our days so full. Most days are very routine which makes them fly by.

On May 22nd, David and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary! We got to go on a date the following Sunday (Thanks Nicole!). We went to a restaurant and got to sit and talk without distraction!! This last Memorial Day weekend we went to our friend's LaRain and Harm's house for a BBQ (a cookout for you Hoosiers). It was last minute and just perfect. LaRain's little one, Zach is good friends with Lily and Lily repeated told me, "We went to play group with Zachy" all the way home.

We are getting ready to go on our summer trip. We'll be flying to Indianapolis and then driving with my family to Myrtle Beach. I'm really looking forward to seeing the fam again!!

I bought myself a Mac notebook computer and am using it right now! I'm still learning all the differences between PCs and Macs. Right now I'm trying to figure out iPhoto and how I want to organize my pics. If anyone has any Mac suggestions, please send them my way!!

The Zoo

David, the kids and I went to the Zoo this morning. It was a perfect day. The temps are in the 60s and overcast. We got there right when the zoo opened and that means no crowds! We left right when the rain started, so we got to enjoy the animals without getting all wet!

Still doing well on the no sugar. I have cheated a bit here and there (had a fruity drink in Vegas and a mocha the other day). Overall though, my sugar consumption has gone down quite a bit. I think I definitely could live this way and only have sugary items from time to time. The only time it's really hard is when I'm stressed out. This has given me an opportunity to find other stress relievers than just something sweet!

Las Vegas

David, the kids and I went to Las Vegas this week. My Mother in Law is living out there with my Brother in Law for the time being. My MIL is from Colorado and normally lives 2 miles from us, but she has been dealing with some lung issues and other health stuff and seems to be better down in lower altitude. We had a scare with her right before our trip. David went to see her by himself. She was feeling extremely tired and wasn't doing so great. We are hoping this is due to her medications being a bit off. When the whole family went, she seems to be doing better.

This trip was a great "trial run" for our next trip later this summer. We will be going to Indianapolis to visit with my family and then driving to Myrtle Beach. We feel like pros getting through the airport with two kids now.

We did a tiny bit of sight seeing while in Vegas. We took the kids to the Mirage to see the dolphins and white lions and tigers. We ate at Planet Hollywood inside the Caesar's mall. We attempted to see the butterfly pavilion inside the Bellagio, but unfortunately it was under construction. I also got to see my great Aunt Sandra and Uncle Henry while I was out there too and that was a treat as it had been awhile!

The Bellagio - David's favorite hotel. Not sure which one is my favorite. Will have to go back to find out!

Mom's Day, Vegas

Happy Mom's Day to all the Mommy's out there, a day late. Love you lots Mom!!
We are all doing well this week. We are preparing to go to Las Vegas to see my Mother in Law. Hoping for a hassle free trip!
I'm doing well with the no sugar. It really is getting easier. I'd still say I'd rather have a vanilla latte than a plain, but we'll see if that ever changes. I really do have a serious sweet tooth.
I allowed myself a bit of a treat on Mom's day. David found some Dove miniature ice creams with only 5 grams of sugar for one. Not too bad!
I'll be offline for a bit. Hope everyone has a great week!

This last Saturday at our Doula's reunion party!

Doing a bit better today

Okay, so I had a meltdown yesterday. Wasn't pretty. But, my fabulous husband helped me out and I'm feeling better today. David watched Jack for me while I had a late dinner with my friend, Liz. Thank you David!! I'm realizing I must must must take more time for myself without kids or I just get too drained and burnt out. Just those couple of hours last night really did well for me.
I had my latte this morning with no vanilla. Still loving my vanilla lattes the best, but I know if I keep drinking them without the flavor, I'll begin to enjoy my coffee flavored coffee. I will say the 2% lattes are much nicer than the nonfat, but that's another story.

Today is very nice outside. In the 70s and sunny! David took Lily for a bike ride/park trip. I hung out a bit outside and read my book with Jack on my lap. After the kids get up from their naps, I plan to spend some more time out there.

I haven't taken as many pictures lately, but here are a couple...
