1/2 Birthdays

Today we celebrated Lily and Jack's half birthday. Since their birthdays fall into the holiday season, I thought it might be a neat tradition to celebrate with friends in the summer when life isn't so busy with the holidays. We can keep their real birthdays for the family. David felt a little funny singing Happy Birthday when it really wasn't their birthdays, but I think it was still fun. I'll let the kids decide what they want when they are older. Lily was all too excited nonetheless.

6 months

My little guy is 6 months today! I feel like he just came home from the hospital.
He's doing well. Went to the doctor's today. He is now 17 lbs and 5 oz! He is 24 inches long. He's about 50% on weight, height and head. I seem to have very average kids.
Jack is a sweet baby. He is a big smiler. He's quick at grabbing anything in front of him. He is starting to sit on his own. He is just now starting to eat some cereal! He can roll all over the place. My favorite is when I walk by and he raises his arms up to be held. Love you little buddy!!
Also, 6 years ago today, David and I went on our first date. He took me out for ice cream. Yum yum! Love you David!!

Growing Up

Lately my kids seem to be growing like weeds. I turn around and they are huge! What's the deal? Everyone warned me of this. As Jack gets older, he is more interactive with Lily. Lily will make him laugh and Jack just watches Lily play. It will be neat to see them play together one day.

Jack is practicing sitting on his own. He's doing really well! I like to be near as he still stumbles. It won't be long before he's sitting completely on his own!

update June 27th: for some reason I lost my pictures. I must change them ever so slightly in iPhoto and lose my blog pictures. So, not sure if these were the original pics or not!

Thirty Five

Yesterday I turned 35. That age really seems like an adult to me. Even with being married and having children and a mortgage, I still am not sure what an adult feels like. I always thought it would feel different from being a young person. Perhaps not. I'm just me no matter how old I get.

I had a good day yesterday. I got to plan out the entire day. We went for coffee in the morning. Had yummie sandwiches for lunch. David made me chicken marsala (one of my favorite meals) for dinner and homemade chocolate cake for dessert.

The kids were a bit crabby from not sleeping well the night before. Otherwise, it was a perfect day! Thanks again to my friends and family who wished me a Happy Birthday. It really was happy!!

At the coffeehouse...

We took the long way home from the coffeehouse.

Lunch and cake. I ate the Chicken Marsala so fast I forgot to take a picture! Lunch was ham and cheese sandwiches on focaccia bread with fruit salad and chips!

Lily enjoyed the cake! Actually, yesterday morning she woke up and the first thing she said was "Lily eat cake and blow out candles!!"

Back to reality

We are back to our day to day lives after our Myrtle Beach trip. Unfortunately we all caught a cold. David and Jack are better now and Lily and I are on the mend. I'm feeling loads better than yesterday. Tomorrow is my birthday and I have some plans on relaxing and doing some fun stuff with my family. I'll try to remember my camera and blog about the day!

Jack at almost 6 months!

Lily can basically use the "big girl chair" without a booster now!
Jack is almost always a happy little dude.

Lily loves to hold her brother. I do too! :)
