Weekend at home and with friends...

This weekend was a typical weekend for us. Some time at home, some time with friends. On Saturday, we spent the morning in our pajamas and in the afternoon we went to the South part of Denver to meet up with my Webster University friends.

Boxed up Lily - Is this were babies come from?

Walking with spoons (this is easier on Mommy and Daddy's back)

If you are chilly, here take my sweater

Jennifer, Me
LuAnn and James
The Webster Friends - we had many many many classes together while working on our Masters in HR Management. We all graduated May of 06!

We met in S. Denver as Jennifer has since moved to Longmont, CO and LuAnn moved to Castle Rock, CO. and Denver was a good middle ground place to meet. We went to CB & Potts Restaurant.

Hairy Situation

Back in December I allowed my gray hairs to get on my nerves. Instead of going to see my hairdresser, I decided to take matters into my own "Nice and Easy" hands. I bought a box of "dark brown", which is pretty much my natural hair color. I loaded up my color, sat down to read a book and wait the 25 minutes. I was then reading "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult. The book was so good, I read for 35 minutes. Oops! Well, the box says "dark brown" and it's okay if my hair gets really dark brown. I washed my hair and oh no! I now have black hair! What?? The box said "dark brown" not "black". So, I looked up how to correct too dark hair color and found that clarifying shampoos help. It is now January and I still wasn't happy with my goth look, so I made an appointment with my hairdresser. I have been wanting to donate my hair to Locks of Love once my hair is long enough and I found out that I can even donate colored hair - yippee! So, my efforts to grow out my hair is still good.
Here is my new hair. I had Tonia (hairdresser) put lots of red highlights in to break up my dark, dark hair. I'm quite enjoying the new color.

Deliciously Lily

This week I pulled out my "Deceptively Delicious" book by Mrs. Seinfeld. No matter what the lawsuits say, I do like this cookbook. In my opinion, the Sneaky Chef lady could have used Mrs. Seinfeld's book as a positive to her book and say "Hey, Mrs. Seinfeld, let's get together and do another cookbook - say "The Sneaky Chef meets Deceptively Delicious". Oh well. Some people feel they must sue instead of looking for other ways to accomplish things. Anyways, I have made three of the recipes: Mac N Cheese #1; Applesauce muffins and French toast. All were very tasty!

Lily's new game is falling down and Mommy yelling "Boom!". She learned this from her aunties.

Movie star!

New activity - coloring!

My Lemongrass Spa party last Saturday went really well. Hopefully this can bloom and I'll get to do more parties in the future! I'm considering doing a monthly open house at my home and invite the gals to come over, soak their feet, chat, eat and try on the products. Perhaps starting in February?

"Working" Mom

Well, a few things have changed since I last posted.

1. I took on a part-time/temp position with a financial advising company. I'm just doing light administrative work at the moment. My hours are Monday - Friday, 2 hours in the morning. It's a nice break from my normal days of Mommy-duties. I've never liked the term "working mom" for those women who work outside the house. I've been a stay-at-home-Mom for the last year - and man, that is hard work! I work just as hard too! I never knew how hard it was taking care of a baby 24/7. I wouldn't take it back though. I feel very lucky to have the option to stay home.

2. I signed up as a consultant to Lemongrass Spa Products. I have been using their products since spring of last year and really like them! My skin is nice and soft and my face has cleared up! I am having a kick-off party tomorrow and am hoping it will go really well.

I'm teaching Lily sign language and she is catching on. She knows quite a few. This is her "Go Colts" sign.
