I have immersed myself in crafting lately. Lots of knitting, card making and a bit of sewing. These activities (along with chocolate) keeps my sanity.

Dear Blog:
I apologize for neglecting you these past (many many) months. I had such high hopes of blogging the majority of my life for a visual history of our lives. I plan to have my children read these posts one day and see what their lives were like as small people. I will try harder.

Lily is Five!

Little girl is Five!

Lily, this is what you are like at 5 years old:

• Lily still enjoys princesses, but not as strongly these days.
• Lily likes Animal from the Muppets.
• She is a great big sister. She shares her toys quite well with her little brother. 
• Her favorite breakfast is cheerios with honey and cinnamon. 
• Her favorite lunch would be a bagel with cream cheese and canned mandarin oranges.
• Her favorite dinner is either pancakes or bean and cheese burritos from La Casita. 
• Her favorite snack is any kind of fruit. She loves fruit - not so into vegetables. 
• Some favorite activities: playing in the snow, changing into different outfits, and anything crafty (coloring, painting, play-dough).
• She can sound out small words and enjoys books. 
• She can count to 100 without help now. 
• She can count by 10s.
• We are working on counting by 5s.
• She is excited to start Kindergarten next year. 
• Lily is enjoying her preschool. She goes 3 times a week from 9am to 1pm. 
• She enjoys when it's her turn for show and tell at school.
• She has a few loose teeth.
• She cracks me up daily. 
• She loves to cuddle. 
• She loves to sing and has memorized many many songs. 
• She wants to be a mermaid when she grows up (but after college).

Lily, I love you to the moon and back! You are my favorite little girl!

And my tradition of the fall shadow picture (yes, it's now winter) is finally posted!

Unfortunately, David wasn't with me when I took this. Kind of telling of 2011. It was a very busy year and many times David and I felt like two ships passing in the night.

Happy 3rd Birthday Jack!

My baby is three today!
Jack has been such joy, blessing, and gift these last three years. He has such a personality. It's been so fun watching him blossom into this wonderful preschooler. Jack reminds me a lot of my Dad. Not only does he have my Dad's stick straight hair, he has my Dad's loving side and temper!
Jack, I love you more than you will ever know little guy!

A bit about Jack these days:

• LOVES LOVES LOVES the movie Cars and Cars 2. 99% of his day, Jack is holding one of his Lightning McQueen cars in his hand, even at time night!
• One of Jack's favorite foods are Cuties. He can put them away!
• Jack has also moved from his favorite ice cream flavor of vanilla to chocolate!
• Jack continues to wear his Lightning McQueen swim trunks (cars trunks) during the majority of the day.
• Jack loves his big sister, Lily. They play so well together. We often find them at night, sleeping in the same room.
• Jack can almost dress himself. He needs a little help, but he pretty much has it down.
• No interest in potty training quite yet. He told me the other day, "I don't want underwear, I want my diaper!" Perhaps in a few months.
• Jack loves to run and be chased. He asks me "Can I run and can you get me?"
• Jack speaks so well now, he can basically get any thought across to us. He still says "Wiwwy" for "Lily" and this year is "Cwismas".
• Jack enjoys going to Mom's Morning Out (school). And his favorite toy there? Lightning McQueen!

I love you little buddy! Thank you for being born! :)
