Teething?

Asleep on the couch...

Lily's not feeling so well this weekend. It's either a nasty case of teething or a small bug (low grade fever, no appetite, lethargy). My folks were in town this last week and I'll blog about that soon. For now - get better little one!

School, Standing and Winter wear

September is going well for us. We also welcomed another baby this month. My friends April and Brad welcomed baby Drew on the 6th. Congratulations!! I cannot wait to meet him! This is my 5th friend to have a baby in 5 weeks. Ah, baby fever. Love it!!

I have been looking around for part time HR jobs for awhile now. These are very few and far between. I actually found one last week and have an interview tomorrow. I am very excited for the interview. Normally I'm nervous for interviews, but I don't really need to work, so I'm much more relaxed about it. I believe working again will give me some mental challenges that I have been missing. This will be a nice balance for me. If I do not get the position, I am okay with this as well. I'm sure there is lots of competition with the economy the way it is. I'll just continue to look and go from there.

I am keeping my social calendar full. This is good as I really enjoy and need friend time to keep my spirits high. This last weekend I went to my friend Betsy's house and did some stamping. I actually got 4 cards completed while getting in some good chatting time. Tomorrow night I'm getting together with a couple of girl friends for Margaritas and more chatting. Friday is coffee with some other friends and a playgroup! I love love love playgroups. Thank you to all my Mommy friends for your time. It's so nice to get to bond with you and share our highs and lows of being a Mommy.

Jack is not only crawling, he is pulling himself up to a standing position. He has also mastered going up our two stairs that separate our family room from our kitchen. Unfortunately he doesn't understand gravity and we have to watch him closely as he doesn't quite have going down the stairs yet. (The picture of Jack on the steps is actually Lily's picture. She is still snapping away and takes some good shots.)

Lily's been a hoot lately. The things she comes up with are amazing. I love hanging out with her and just getting to know her more. She went through a "winter phase" for a couple of days. The temps were in the 80s, but that didn't stop her. The middle picture is a rare pigtails picture. Normally Lily will have nothing to do with barrettes in her hair. The last picture was from this morning. It was the 1st day of school! She is back in Mom's Morning Out and she really enjoyed her day today. (So did I)

Boots, Drawing and Crawling

Jack has caught onto crawling now! He is up on his hands and knees and is so very fast. He seems to enjoy all the items not allowed: plants, cords, fans, etc. Toys schmoys - he's into the forbidden things! Argh. Baby proofing will be different for Jack than what we had for Lily.

Lily was playing with her Magna doodle today and told me she was going to draw Jack. I was so excited to see she actually drew a face! I didn't know she could do this!! My artist!!

We bought shoes for Lily today. Her tennies were getting too tight and she needed some new shoes for school (starting in Sept!) She saw a pair of boots and they were reasonably priced, so we got those too. Will be good for the rainy days. She didn't take them off today.

Just a random pic of us and the kids...

My friend Amy had her baby today! Welcome to the world baby Margot!!!

End of August

It's hard to believe it's the end of August. Did we have a summer?
David, the kids and I are doing fairly well. Jack is now army crawling all over the place. Lily's language has really boomed this summer. She can talk your ear off! She is still very quiet around people she doesn't know, but once she feels comfortable around you - watch out! I've also noticed that I'm not having to discipline her as much. I think she is coming out of the "terrible twos"! She still has her moments, but they seem to be less and less.

We found out today that my friend, LaRain had her baby! Congrats LaRain and Harm!! I can't wait to meet the little one.

Sweet girl!

Jack is a crawling, climbing fool!

Catching Up

Sorry for not blogging in awhile. Life has just been a bit crazy and I have been a bit lazy about downloading my pictures.
The last few weeks has been filled with different events.
Last weekend I met up with some of my friends from Webster University. Last time we all met up was January of 2008. It was good to see everyone again.

Webster friends: me, LuAnn, Jennifer and James

I also attended a baby shower for my friend LaRain. I forgot my camera, but will post some pics when I receive the pics from my friends who did remember their camera. For the shower, we went to breakfast and got our toes done. It was a perfect day!

David and I also had date night this last weekend! We got ourselves a babysitter, sat ourselves down at a Starbucks and just talked about anything that didn't include children or the house. Again, perfect!

Some events coming up....Lily will be starting school in September! She will have her buddy Zach in class with her. They are like brother and sister and should keep the teachers on their toes!

I signed up for a "Stamps in the Mail" program. I'll receive a stamp set and supplies in the mail. Then over the next three months, I'll receive instructions on different projects for that particular stamp set and supplies. This should cure some of my boredom I seem to have lately.
I'm looking at signing up for a sewing class in September as well. I have been talking about learning to sew for years now and perhaps this is the year!

Speaking of things I seem to talk a lot about....New York City! I'm hoping to arrange for David and I to go next summer for our anniversary! My parents offered to watch the kiddos for a weekend! Now we just have to plan! I've been talking about NYC for so long that one of my old college professors from I.U. and I reconnect on Facebook and she asked me "Did you ever make it out to NYC?" Huh? I don't remember talking about NYC in college, but I must have!

A couple of friends had birthdays this last week as well. Happy Birthday to Suz and Amy! Here is a picture of us "back in the day"... aka college. We went on Spring Break together. We hit Memphis on our way down to Florida. I remember it being a very fun trip!

And back to the current year....
