Curls and Cookies

I love after Lily gets a bath as her hair is so curly afterward. David has very very curly hair and mine is wavy, so she was bound to get a bit of curl. It does flatten out after sleeping though.

David made these cookies inspired by Amy. They are quite nummy. However, I do not like the extra salt sprinkles on the cookies. My palate is quite sensitive to salt. I almost never salt my food. I tend to only use salt when it's called for in a recipe. However, if you try this recipe, I would at least salt one to see if you like it. David really enjoyed the added salt.

Webster University Gathering

It's been awhile since the Webster Gang all got together. This afternoon, David and I hosted another gathering. We bbq'd and had lots of good food. Unfortunately, LuAnn wasn't here, so not a complete gathering, but we will try to catch up with her within the next month or two.

Finally!

I'm finally feeling better today. Not 100%, but much much better. Yesterday was the first time all week I didn't feel like lying on the couch all day, so I took Lily to a playgroup with a Mom's group I'm in. Then we went to the park and met up with Miss Nicole with another playgroup I'm involved in. Lily enjoyed the swings and kiddie slide.

Today we are going to the Mom's Morning Out Open House. Lily's going to start going to "school" on Fridays for 3 hours. I must admit I'm nervous for the first day, and yet I know it will be good for her to be away from Mommy for a little bit and play with other kids. I was given some hope yesterday when Lily played fairly well at playgroup. She did a few "Mommy checks", but overall, I didn't have to be right by her side.

After the Open House, we are meeting with Miss Nicole again for some coffee! Yum yum.

I felt good enough this morning to make myself a nice vanilla latte! (decaf of course)

Counting and still in bed with a cold

I'm still feeling under the weather. However, I think it's starting to turn around for the better. I started reading "The Virgin's Lover" by Philippa Gregory. This has taken me 4 months to really start. I'd read a page here and a page there. I'm finally into the book! David has been watching Lily for me, so most of my day today was sleeping and reading. Maybe Monday will come with healthy feelings.

Here is Lily counting to 5 - this is her newest thing :)

Sick

Yes, it's a cold. Bleh. I have been feeling horrible the last 3 days. I'm hoping and hoping to feel better tomorrow.

We missed Lily's friend, Izzy's birthday party today. I am very bummed about that. Hopefully we can meet up with Izzy and Mama Cat maybe next week.

Happy Birthday Izzy!!
