9 months old
Lily is 9 months old today!! She has been in this world as long as she was in the belly! We went to the Doctors today. Lily is good and healthy! She weighs 18lbs and she is 27 inches. She went from 70th percentile in height at 6 months to 40th percentile today. Perhaps she is destined to be a bit shorter (like her Mommy) :)

Baby Shower
We threw a baby shower for my friend Melanie on Saturday. It was a lot of fun! This was a surprise shower for Melanie. We told her to come over for just a brunch...hee hee.
Melanie is due in December! Only two more months to go. My advice to her was to see every movie she can, go out to eat as much as she can and sleep in!

Adventures with Cloth Diapers

I am venturing into the Cloth Diaper world. I researched this while pregnant, but it has taken me 9 months to really try them out. Overall, I really like them! I bought 8 Bum Genius diapers, which is about a day's worth. I still use Pampers over night. I have to wash them every night, which I don't mind right now. My only challenge at the moment are the poopy diapers. You'd think I'd be used to poopy by now, but guess not! With Pampers (my normal disposable), you just wipe the butt, put the wipes in the diaper and throw them away. Easy! With cloth diapers and disposable wipes, it's a bit more challenging. I am reading that cloth wipes are the way to go with cloth diapers. My girlfriends, Cat and Karen are helping me sew some cloth wipes and coming up with a "juice" to squirt on the cloth wipes for cleaning the rear. Cat is also teaching me to sew, so in the future I can make my own! Yes, I don't know how to sew. I have wanted to learn for awhile now, just didn't take the time to ask anyone for help. My Mom said I can have her sewing machine, so I will pick that up over Christmas! My friends, Karen, Cat and Amy are awesome seamstresses and I aspire to do more creative things with sewing!
