Hoosierland

Today is my 2nd day in Indianapolis. I arrived yesterday around 3pm. Last night we had some friends over for dinner. My Dad made red enchiladas and tamales - yum! Today I hung out at the house with Lily while everyone was at work. Lily had a hard time sleeping in a new bed, so we didn't do a lot of sleeping today. We did take two walks though. The first walk was quite short as it's very hot and humid here. I miss the Colorado freshness!
Currently Lily is jabbering up a storm. She is saying something that sounds like "dadadada" - hopefully she will say this when we see David again.

Speaking of, I miss my husband quite a bit. I didn't realize how much I rely on him and how much I just enjoy his company. I spend the majority of my time with him, so when we are apart, I can really tell. But, time away makes us both really appreciate one other, so that is okay.

Bun: I love you and miss you lots!!

June 1st:
Didn't have time to finish my blog until today. Life is busy with a family of 4 kids plus their significant others and children. Today is my Dad's Birthday. Happy Birthday Dad!! We are going to a steakhouse for dinner to celebrate. Then we'll have German Chocolate Cake - that has one of my favorite icings!!
Right now I'm at my brother's house watching his daughter, Cassie. Lily is fascinated with Cassie and vice versa. Cassie is 3 years old. So, perhaps a glimpse of what life would be life with two children.
I do have some pictures but have not downloaded them yet. Pictures to come...

Memorial Day

May 28, 2007

Happy Memorial Day to all. Today my thoughts are with all the families who have lost their loved ones in this Iraq War. Although I completely disagree with this war, I do support all the troops over there doing their jobs. I believe one can disagree with war and still support and honor our military. It saddens me when people assume if you are pro-peace you are anti-troops. But, as I have said many times "Their opinion does not make my truth."

Last night my friend Christine came over to hang out. Here is a picture of her with Lily...

Today we are going to my In-Laws for a BBQ. Tomorrow will be packing day and then Lily and I leave for Indy on Wednesday!

Work Friends

May 27, 2007

Last night I had my work girl friends over for dinner. Well, I should say former work girl friends. Of the group of 6 ladies, two of us have left the company. It was great seeing everyone again. I have to say that was one of the best groups I worked in, as we all got along and we all supported each other. I meant to take pictures, but the night got away from me. A couple of us are continuing the "party" with breakfast this morning at a local restaurant called Olive Branch. They have yummie breakfast there.

On Wednesday I will be going to Indiana for two weeks! I'm so excited to go, but very sad to be leaving the husband in Colorado. I'm most nervous about the plane ride, but it's only two hours and I can do anything for two hours. I just hope Lily is happy and her ears don't bother her too much. Perhaps Mr. Sandman will be kind and allow her to sleep most of the trip.

The last few days we have been working on getting Lily to sleep more independently. I attempted the "cry it out" method and right now I'm not quite ready for that. I noticed that when she shows signs of being sleepy, that is the best time to lay her down. She normally gets sleepy around 9pm or so. I kept reading that a better bedtime is 8pm. This 8pm bedtime didn't work out so well. I will just slowly try to get her towards the 8pm bedtime as I just can't deal with my little baby screaming her head off. Last night she was tired about 9:30pm, we laid her down in her cradle and she whimpered for a few minutes and was out like a light. She slept until 4am...ate...fell back asleep...ate some more at 6am...slept until 7:30am - ahhh sleep! She's a very happy girl this morning!!

Back from El Paso and Anniversary

May 23, 2007

David, Lily and I are back in Colorado. We drove down to El Paso for my Grandmother's funeral. It was very sad and I'm glad we were able to go.

Yesterday David and I had our 2nd Anniversary. Happy Anniversary Husband!! These last two years have been wonderful. We have accomplished quite a bit. Sold a house, bought a house, moved two times, had a baby, took a trip to Europe, a couple of road trips a couple of plane trips and all in all, it's all been great. I would have to say that David is the husband I had been asking for. All throughout my twenties I was searching for the right guy. None seemed quite right until I met David. It's funny, when I met David, I was at the point in my life where I was happy being single. Guess that is how it always works out.

Next week I'm going to Indiana to visit my family. This will be a trip for just Lily and me. This will be Lily's first plane ride. I'm more than nervous taking her on the plane. I hope so bad this is an easy plane ride and her ears cooperate.

My Peaceful Life

May 12, 2007
I'm starting this new blog as my typepad account is going away in June and wanted to "mark my spot" on Google.

More to come after June....
